SHINee’s Key Confirmed To Make Solo Debut

Oct. 11 (UPI) — SHINee singer Key is gearing up to make his solo debut.

The Korea Herald reported today that after ten years in the industry,Key of South Korean boy group SHINee will release his first solo album in November.

SHINee’s agency, S.M. Entertainment, confirmed the news to X-Sports News. The company said Key is in the final stages of preparation for his debut.

The singer-actor is currently working on his first solo album with plans to release it sometime in November. No other detail has been revealed as of press time regarding what kind of album Key will release for his solo debut.

Since his debut as a vocalist in SHINee in 2008 with first single Replay, the multitalented musician has been expanding his reach into various fields, such as fashion, musicals, TV shows and films.

He debuted as a member of SHINee alongside Onew, Jonghyun, Minho, and Taemin.

In 2012, he made his theatrical debut in the Korean production of the Broadway musical Catch Me If You Can. Since then he has participated in various musical productions including The Three MusketeersZorroChess, and In the Heights.

Meanwhile, he made his official acting debut in the tvN drama Drinking Solo as Kim Ki Bum (also his real name) in 2016. The following year, he took on the role of Gong Kyung Soo in MBC’s The Guardians. Aside from acting, he is also active in variety shows. Currently, he is part of the cast of Amazing Saturday and hosts his own reality show Cheongdam Key-chin.

In terms of music, Key has been a featured artist in various songs including “Healing” by TRAX, “Barbie Girl” by Jessica Jung, “Two Moons” by EXO, and most recently, “If You’re Over Me” by Years & Years. He also formed a duo with his best friend, INFINITE’s Nam Woo Hyun called Toheart. The duo has released one extended play titled 1st Mini Album led by “Delicious”.
